We are in the middle of design for one of the most complex fish hatcheries ever to be built in North America. Our engineering consultant is recommending standard PLC and SCADA alarm and control system but one of our staff is really pushing a WinPLC based system...

I was interested to know others opinions on tuning of loops with large process time constants and small dead time's. These cause the Tp/Td ratio to be quite large, hence causing very large Kc when using the Z-N method's.
