I am doing a project which uses SC23 Microcontroller. I have to send data to client through MODBUS. That is I have to read a table from server and store it on PC hard disk where client code is running.

I need a way of controlling a 2HP 1-phase motor (possibly 3 phase). I'd be willing to go as far as to put an encoder on it, but I can handle that, I think. The harder part (for me) is to find a way of making a low-voltage or DMX (digital-multiplex 512) type control for it.

Does anyone know of a telephone MODEM(s) that can be set up to do the following:
Customer dials out on MODEM #1, MODEM #2 answers and automatically closes a relay contact on MODEM #2?
