More current for DC motor Driver

Hi,

I am using L298, LMD18200 for driving dc motors.
Now, I need more current. LMD18200 has 3A(peak 6A) capacity. I need some H-bridge driver which has about 8A(peak 12A or more) current limit.
I was trying to find the driver chip at many website ( national, motorola, st, etc). But I didn't find adequate one.
Please recommand proper driver chip which satisfies followings(I want exactly the same device as L298, just 2~3 times current limit)

DC motors : 24V (150W~200W)
PWM : generating from DSP C2000 (control voltage may 5V but 12V is also OK)
Current sensing is optional.

Thank you,
Jun-Su Jang.

Try out a L9639, has a 8amp max rating. or a L9230, 5 amp max design.

http://www.us.st.com, you can down load pdf spec sheets. I don't believe from some of the searching I did that your going to find a direct, pin for pin replacement rated at 5 or 8 amps for the L298.

Such full bridge drivers with standard TTL logic inputs for continuous current above 5A in small power packages as multiwatt simply don’t exist. You may design servo amp yourself based on discrete MOSFETS or power modules. But better way is using approved servo amp as for example VIO type from Elmo (www.elmomc.com).
