Migration to Experion

At our Urea fertilizer plant, we have two control systems i.e. Bailey infi-90 & TDC-3000 S/W release 435.1 in 3 different control rooms. Our management has decided to upgrade these systems. Under this scheme Bailey infi-90's OIS is being migrated to HW Experion R-200 in phase I, in phase 2 we are planning to migrate TDC-3000 to HW Experion but will maintain Infi-90 PCUs and TDC APM / PMs. In 3rd phase Bailey PCUs will probably be replaced with HW C-300 controller.

I request your expert opinion:
1- Do you think we are moving in right direction?
2- Can Experion R 200 support Honeywell C-300 Controller?
3- Any expert opinion / particular precaution?

Thanks Frank, I have sent you an email on your given address.

My request of comments is still there any body can contribute.

Mr Khan,
Just to check

Do you have budget limitation?
Do you have any dedicated programm running in
APM- TDC3000?

R200 software will not work with C300 controller.

R300 package is to be used with C300 controller.

If you are looking for Guranted perfomance with
this migration , than it is big mistake.

If you want, we can just do preliminary feasibility study for you

Dear Mr Khan,

1. You are moving in the right direction.

2. Experion R200 does not support C300. You need the R300 software for it. C300 are the state of art controllers from Honeywell. If you have the on process migration license enabled in the R200 sytem then migrating to R300 software is a matter of a couple of hours practically.

3. Nothing really to be cautious about just remember that you have an ACE node from honeywell if your plans are to change the APM / AM

Dear Frank,

Since you are experienced in EXPERION DCS

Would you like tell us what is maxm PU/sec for
C200 Redundant Controller?

Thanks

I am in the process of doing a migration to Experion to an existing TDC3000 system for one of my clients. Are there any particulars to watch out for? Any, 'Gotchas?'

Dear,

As a Honeywell Automation User you maybe currently considering the problem of how to migrate from Honeywell Legacy to the Honeywell new system Experion PKS and how much is it going to cost both in time and money?

If so then maybe this is the time to "choose" something different Why follow the "Honeywell Route"? Maybe this is the time to switch your destination and chose for Siemens Process Automation.

Why would you do this? Well the Siemens Route follows carefully the same migration path as
Honeywell but when you arrive at destination Siemens Process Automation You will find that the cost of ownership is lower, future investments in hardware, software maintenance and licensing are lower.

That Siemens can call on its existing extensive localized support Structure of software and maintenance or on the certified partners to "give" you 24 hours a day cover if something should go wrong.

Siemens is a world wide organization with Local offices in countries and certified partners world wide.

Siemens automation can offer software based migration tools to assist you in the safe transition of your Honeywell Legacy software "To" Siemens Process Automation.

Siemens Process Automation has all the software packages that you require including continuous, batch control, special packages for route control, historian, quality, IT communications, etc.

So why not make the first step from Honeywell Legacy to Destination Siemens Process Automation and make a appointment to discuss the future. The time is right Your Siemens Process team is ready to and willing to help you.
