I am having a big pronlem here. I have two machines with SLC 5/04 in them. Every time I try to link up to one of them via the ethernet port, the whole PLC shuts down, no power, nothing. I have to completely reboot the whole machine. Since it occurs on both machines I am sure that I am doing something wrong, but I have never encountered this before. In addition, I cannot use the RS-232 port because it is being used to communicate with a Parker touchscreen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Think you have some kind of a ground loop.
Try to isolate the fault by removing other communication. Also operate your pc from battery.

The 5/04 does not have an RJ45 port. The DH+ port is either a small circular connector or a phoenix connector.
