Level transmitter

I want some transmitter to measure material level on a transportation band. I've tried with ultrasonic transmitters but after 3 years the equipment has problems with the echo reception. Material: wood fiber, max speed: 200 mm/s. Level: max 800 mm.

i happen to work in a facility where level transmitters are used to monitor product level in a sump pit so i know how it operates especially in connection with the diaphragm pumps, i'm looking for some theory behind it though, any guesses?

Yes, I've installed E+H but it lasted 3 years. Then i've installed PROBE form milltronics -siemens but it lasted 4 years.

Do you have experience with Emerson?

I was forced to install a Siemens Probe LU that had already been purchased - I did so under protest. My prior experience with the original Milltronics Probe found it very limited, in the extreme. Tried one, never again. So, I figured the Probe LU was just a repackaged Probe. Was I wrong about that.

Apparently, someone at Siemens figured out how to increase the S/N ratio. Hence, the Probe LU is a TOTALLY different device than the old Probe.
It not only looks different, it outclasses the the old Probe by several orders of magnitude.

In fact, I've used Probe LUs where I would previously have used higher powered transducers.

Siemens' marketing guy goofed by re-using a name associated with a marginal product for such a well performing level transmitter.

Too bad your old probe failed, but the newer Probe LU is a vastly improved.
