RTD output values

We have RTDs connected to a generator. However, some of the RTDs tends to give a much higher value and goes down at a very low value. This seems to happen in fixed intervals. What could possibly be the problem?

BTW

We had a similar situation occur. It turned out the RTDs were 3-wire with the third wire grounded. They then went to a PLC input with its third wire grounded. The result was different temperature values proportional to the distance of each RTD from the PLC. Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless handheld
