Use of reactors and synchronising bus

We have a power plant for a refinery. There is no grid connection. The generation and main distribution voltage is 75MW. Use is made of 6 x 25%, 10kV generators. There are issues of short circuit level at the 10kV receiving switchgear.

It is planned to have 4 x 25% generators operating under load and out of the two remaining generators, one will be a spinning reserve and the other one will be idle. The 10kV switchhgear has 4 bus sections with series reactors between them. One generator is connected to each bus section.

Under this configuration:
1. Will there be power flow (active and reactive) between the generators through the series reactor?

2. If there is a fault in one bus section what will be the voltages on the other sections?

2. In order to carry out a fault study much more information is required then that provided thus far!

Bala, the lead to your topic referred to reactors and a synchronizing bus:

1) Were you interested in evaluating various bus-schemes to determine their fault-reduction efficacy?

2) Were you asking about an existing situation, that is, replace a bus-sectionalizing scheme with a synchronizing-bus arrangement to improve voltage regulation?
