We have a power plant for a refinery. There is no grid connection. The generation and main distribution voltage is 75MW. Use is made of 6 x 25%, 10kV generators. There are issues of short circuit level at the 10kV receiving switchgear.
It is planned to have 4 x 25% generators operating under load and out of the two remaining generators, one will be a spinning reserve and the other one will be idle. The 10kV switchhgear has 4 bus sections with series reactors between them. One generator is connected to each bus section.
Under this configuration:
1. Will there be power flow (active and reactive) between the generators through the series reactor?
2. If there is a fault in one bus section what will be the voltages on the other sections?
