ModBus RTU

I have "Hitachi" variable frequency inverter with built-in RS-485 serial communications, featuring the ModBus RTU protocol. I need to run 3 phase motor through this inverter. The task for the inverter looks like this: start-acceleration-decceleration-stop. With different time delay for acceleration-decceleration. Is anybody can help to write this program or send useful info?

Thank you in advance,
Tom Martin

Dear Tom,

From your explanation i understand that you want to start motor from control room using Modbus RTU Protocol. For that you should have a Modbus Master driver in your HMI. Configure inverter as Modbus Slave. for detailed configuration refer the manual of the Inverter.

START-ACCELERATOR-DEACCELERATOR-STOP Parameter defines the rate of change of speed of your motor during starting and stopping sequence. Time setting varies as per the application.

hope this info. is of use to you.

Dear Sanjeev,

Thank you very much for you reply. Would you clarify one thing. What is the HMI? Actually, my idea is to program/operate inverter at real time.

Again thank you in advance.
Tom

Are you looking to do it from a PC? if so, your project is very similar to mine, except that I'm doing it with an Allen Bradley Powerflex 40
