Where can I find some Modbus to Bacnet over IP convertors? Are there any readily available in the market?

Hi

This is a common application which is solved with the FieldServer http://www.fieldserver.com . The hardware platform is loaded with Modbus TCP/IP and (BACnet IP or BACnet Ethernet) and the data points are then mapped from one protocol to the other for bi-directional communications. Modbus TCP/IP can also be substituted with Modbus RTU.

Richard

Try

http://www.fieldserver.com

Their FS-B2010-01 FieldServer Bridge is available with BACnet Ethernet and BACnet IP on the Ethernet side and several Modbus versions on the serial side. It lists around 1200 USD, and the BACNet driver costs an extra 800 USD. The Modbus RTU driver is included.

They will configure the box for you if you need it (again at an additional cost). My company uses these things and has had good success with them.

Have a look at fieldserver technologies ( http://www.fieldserver.com/ ) or MBS ( http://www.mbs-software.de/e_gateways.html ) ...

Hope that helps,

Jörg

Dear Leanardo,
We had similar enquiries on conversion to BACNET. But BACNET, not being a so popularly used protocol (atleast I do not know of many installations) I doubt if there are any commercial off the shelf convertors.
Have a look at http://www.sunlux-india.com/ProtocolConverters.htm. Though there is no ready to use converter we may agree to configure one for you. Let me know if this will help.

Hi Ganesh

In USA BACnet is widely used in Building Automation and companies like www.fieldserver.com have off the shelf solutions for over 80 different applications to BACnet. FieldServer even has a number of installations in India done by www.trane.com There are a number of large organizations in USA such as Delta Controls, Alerton, Automated Logic, Trane to name but a few who totally support BACnet.

Richard
