For anybody that knows:
I wish to copy the whole Database contained in a D20 GE Harris RTU to another similar RTU for building a mirrored system. Of course both RTU support the same protocol. For example two of them are DNP3 and Modbus.
How many links I need establish between RTUs for doing that with DNP.3? and... How many using Modbus?
Do I really need four links?
Doesn´t a Master RTU protocol allow write and read any data from the slaves?
Thanks a lot to any answer.

Hi,
MODBUS Master RTU protocol allow write and read any type of data from the slaves using specific function codes defined in standards like Read File Record, Write File Record or Encapsulated Interface Transport etc. We do have protocol stack which supports all the function defined by MODBUS standards. If your protocol driver supports these function codes, then you should not feel any problem. To know more about these, do check http://www.sunlux-india.com, or mail me.

I recently experienced a problem while trying to run the D20 after copying the configuration file from a source safe location, and even GE Factory itself.
It seems that some of the files in the Appldef folder will automatically generate a lock file (.lck) in the directory. The application will not run with these files, or should I say, not all parts of the application. Make sure you do a search and delete the .lck files befor doing a config upload. If you do a config dump back to a file, then transfer the file to an archive directory...it will write the .lck files again.
Just something to keep in mind if you're building a system.
