Does the ABB AC800M CPU redundancy?

yes, of course, it has double backpane cpu for redundancy.

 

Of course! AC800M CPU is redundant, the control network interface is also redundant.

 

The pm860 is not, pm861 and 864 are.

 

I would like to know if the ABB AC800M controller can be configured as a slave when talking serially via Modbus protocol to the other DCS device.

Yes certainly.. there are 5 proceossor modules in AC800M. PM851/856/860/861A and 864A. Out of these 5 the last two i.e PM861A and PM864A has got CPU redundancy..
