Calling all automation geeks:
PLCopen is a non-profit international association supporting IEC-61131 and open control.
PLCopen in North America needs an identity. As much as IEC-61131 and Motion Control Function Blocks have been a success with users and organization such as OMAC and the packaging industry, it is time to bring PLCopen to the
forefront after 10 years in existance.
The first two steps in accomplishing this are:
1. Having an informal gathering at the ISA show in Houston at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning, meeting in the press room. A meeting place will be finalized by then and we can migrate to that location. Refreshments will be served.
This meeting will be a brainstorming session as well as a call for participation by all.
2. Organize a plan to form a PLCopen Promotional committee (PC3) for North America.
As the North American representative for PLCopen, I cordially invite you to this gathering to participate in the future for 'the efficiency in automation'.
For those of you who will be in Houston, I will be chairing a session on Tuesday at 2:00 PM on PLCopen. Please join us before you decide to come to this meeting.
Cheers from: Jeremy Pollard, CET The Crazy Canuckian!
