Does anyone know where on the web I can find resources for learning Intools? Tutorials? online manuals? Or discussion forums?

Any links are appreciated. Or if you know of any books that teach Intools.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Imtiyaz,
We in Brunei Shell Petroleum is still using INtools 6 but will soon (when???) going to use SPI 7. The process to create ILD, you must create the loop first and tags second. If you need assistant, INtools comes with it very informative HELP file. Again, as mentioned by Mr Hosseini, you need to undergo the basic INtools training. Then you will be able to develop your skill by doing it on your own.

helo ibrahim and all,

i need help from you, according to implement intools between client and server using the database oracle.

the intools version is 5.3 running on server o/s windows 2000 server. and the client o/s is windows xp and installed intools with type networking. the LAN/network is used TCP/IP and status connection OK.
the problem is when running intools on the client it can't connect to database oracle on the server. the message is: "unrecognized database error".
even we have follow the installation guide about intools on oracle but the problem still persists.

meanwhile we've installed the intools full and oracle in server, and there's no problem on server side. when intools is run on server it can connect to database normally, but why when the client try to connect to database there's a problem?

thank you very much for the response,

rgrds,
erik

The best manual you can get your hands on is to print the online help. Intergraph manuals are useless. Even the online help is limited. There are (as far as I know) no online forums on Intools and no manuals that have been written by third parties. The white elephant standing in the room that nobody wants to discuss is that the software is pathetic. You can earn an ok living from it, though...

Posted by Sam on 4 September, 2008 - 12:45 am
OK or good living...
I'm making good and don't know why you said OK.

Posted by Tzvi on 6 October, 2008 - 5:28 am
What is the problem?

Posted by Orlando on 21 November, 2008 - 2:30 pm
I have INtools software and I also have training manuals. It's a good instrumentation software but no longer exists. It's been replaced by Smart Plant Instrumentation. Version 6 below they called INtools, version 7 and up they called it Smart Plant Instrumentation.

Posted by Roy Matson on 22 November, 2008 - 12:08 am
I have recently had training in Intools.
As far as I am concerned the software is way overrated, has lots of bugs and not worth the effort. Better stick to an inexpensive MS Access database and decent drawing package such as Autocad

Roy
