I will be very happy if anybody give me a hint how to connect and set DIP switches on York's Microgateway using YorkTalk 2 and rs485. What is the meaning of its status LED? It 's flashing but I have no idea what does it mean. I have no information at all. Thanx in advance.

York has a setup procedure for the MicroGateway. There is a specific order that things must be don in. I do know that the dip switches are configuration for speed etc, then you have to power the MicroGateway down, then set the binary address. You need to contact York, the MicroGateways are fussy.

I have sucessfully integrated to a York Microprocessor. It's no big deal at all. The dip switches are used only for an address. The physical RS485 connection needs to be landed on terminals marked TB@. As far as getting the information you want from the chiller, you need to get with the chiller technician and have him give you a "mapping" matrix. York has many chillers so each database is different.

No idea about the LED lights and what they mean. I'm researching this myself.

The Microgateway defaults to RS485 2 wire connection at 9600 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, even parity on the lower port 2. The dip switch is used for multiple purpose. A quickstart method may be used to initialize the microgateway. There are several different quickstarts, depending on your chiller. Your York representative would usually set your microgateway. After the microgateway is quickstarted, the dip switch is set for an address, usually 1 (switch 1 set on).

Port 1 red LED should be flashing approx. every 2 seconds, with the green LED periodically flashing. This means the microgateway is communicating with your chiller.

Use a Modbus commmunications program like Modscan32 to check out your communications. Try reading address 40005 (leaving chilled water temperature X10) signed integer.
