Hi

I have seen one vendor catalog. there is one parameter like, Maximum Shock Protection =5,000 g, peak

what it mean? what g stands for?

Hello

I may know what g-peak means if this helps you here is it:

Peak ground acceleration is a measure of earthquake acceleration. Unlike the Richter magnitude scale, it is not a measure of the total size of the earthquake, but rather how hard the earth shakes in a given geographic area.

Unlike the Mercalli Intensity Scale, it is measured by instruments, not from personal reports, although it generally correlates well with the Mercalli scale.

Peak ground acceleration can be measured in g (the acceleration due to gravity) or m/s2.

1g is the force caused by the acceleration due to gravity at the earth's surface. 5000 g peak force would be the equivalent of 5000 times this for a brief instant. This is the common means of specifying how much force due to acceleration the item can withstand when dropped or struck.

But what does G really stands for?

I mean g can be grams and MB can be Mega Bytes
But what does G is in word?
