LightOPC Development - need OPC DA Specifications

I want to develop an OPC server using LightOPC, stumbled upon standard files problem. It requires OPC DA Specifications provided by OPC Foundation.

Unfortunately the files are not available for download for non-members, and I can't be a member, because I don't have the money to pay for it.

Is there any way/or any other free sources for these files?

Actually I don't need to. Trying to get what you would need is an object lesson in why that's a bad idea. It's a long way from Open and a far cry from OSS. But to some people, there is no computing but from the monopoly and it's at present, vigorously enforced by Big Automation. An examination of why is another object lesson.
They frantically avoid any other commonality, but they all bow to Redmond. One ring to rule them all....And in the darkness bind them.

(With apologies to Tolkien).

Try downloading a few trial OPC clients/servers from vendors like Matrikon, Softing etc. - some of them come with specification.

I'm using LightOPC succesfully, and I'm not an OPC member. I can help you if you are still interested.

Good luck!

Hello Mr. Francisco,

You said that you are progressive user of LightOPC.
I'm a beginner in this field and I need your help.
Can you provide me with instruction of using this product, or at least tell me what are my first steps? :)

I'm just starting to use LightOPC and I feel lost. I haven't find the headers of the specifications. Well, I just find error.h. but I need some help with the use of the server.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,
Alejandra
