I am interested in automating the microscope stage using Labview... and I want to control the movement of the stage. Can anybody help me with the external hardware I need to interface this with PC?
Thank you.

Hello automation,

Look at remote devices... RS-485 or Ethernet step motors, e.g. MDrive+ ( http://www.imshome.com/motor_drives.html ), standard RS-485 interface, an ASCII-protocol, multi-motor mode, 4 DI with microprogram ability,
EUR 500-700. We use it with LabVIEW and have no complaints.

Thanks for reply, but can I do this with GPIB or RS232 card? And by the way, we are provided with Labview drivers for motion controlled stage.
