We have problems with Toshiba Inverter. With small capacity motor (power less than 7.5kw), Inverter operated well in closed loop vector control. But with higher capacity ac motor, inverter can not run in this mode. Example, we used VFA7-4370PL to control ac motor speed (motor data: 30kw – 380V-50Hz-2900rpm, Manufacturer Siemens). The problem is sometimes, we can not use function autotune and sometime we can do. So that, as we try to run in closed loop vector control, overcurrent trip occurs. Output frequency can not increase above 2.5Hz.

Can anybody help us?

If you try to auto tune and the auto tune fails you have to reset the drive to factory default and start over. Do not use the auto tune function the next time. It is not necessary for the drive to work. The auto tune is programmed for Toshiba motors and does not recognize some others.

 

Thanks for the info. I also have a toshiba vs7s 2015up that is rated for 1.5kw or for a 6.8 amp motor, and without auto tune, using the default settings it runs a 3.7 amp motor fine. But without a remote control for forward and reverse i cannot reverse the motor. I guess i will have to put on the remote. Also i have yet to find out how to (using the keypad ) change some of the settings, such as fr or reverse, or for that matter make any parameter changes.such as to limit the current down to a 3.7 amp motor...
