Speedtronic Mark VI problem

Who can show me how to start up Speedtronic Mark VI when 3 controllers could not synchronize? The status of 3 controllers are: Controlling, fault and other is boot.

Now when I connect with controller, the system has an error: SDI could not connect. All the systems are shut down now.

You can try as below:

1.1 Correcting UCVx lock-up due to incorrect download sequence
1.1.1 Establish serial connection between HMI or PC and the COM1 port on the UCVx board using a Micro-D connector
1.1.2 Establish a HyperTerminal session
1.1.3 Reboot the controller and wait for a message ¡°Press RETURN key within 2 SECONDS to ABORT uc2k startup¡±
1.1.4 Press the Return or Enter key within 2 seconds to stop the UCVx from loading the Application code.
1.1.5 Go into the UCVx and delete the UC2K.sym and UC2K.cfg files located in the apps directory as follows:
1.1.5.1 Login to the UCVx:
1.1.5.1.1 Login: root
1.1.5.1.2 Password: ge
1.1.5.1.3 You will be inserted in the \bin subdirectory.
1.1.5.1.4 Type ¡°cd ..¡± (change directory space .., to move up one directory level)
1.1.5.1.5 Type ¡°Cd apps¡±
1.1.5.1.6 Type ¡°LS¡± to list files in a directory
1.1.5.1.7 This list will show the UC2K.sym and UC2K.cfg files.
1.1.5.1.8 Type ¡°rm uc2k.*¡± to delete these files.
1.1.6 You can down load in the proper sequence, and then reboot.

This problem can be avoided if the user downloads runtime first, before downloading the application code.

Dears,

Q1. We have a Mark VI controller, and one of the controller <s> reports as failed (red LEDs). We are trying to upload from R or T and to download the same to S. But the uploading stops at some point asking for a password.

Q2. In another unit, we got the ping back from the communication cards and all the controllers are indicating healthy. However, we are not able to view any data in the Mark VI tools for reason not known. Help please.

Hi there! Why is it IGV current is affected when whenever the On Line Water Wash command was issued? Current Fluctuations are observed on the R,S,and T current feedback... and then after an hour, the unit trips on high exhaust temp?

You haven't provided enough information; it would be helpful to know what turbine you are working on and some of the details about trip, for example, is the unit running at Base Load when this happens, does it happen after the Water Wash is complete, etc. We just don't have enough information to be of help.

I can tell you that if you have a GE-design heavy duty gas turbine that generally On-Line Water Washes are only recommended to be done with the IGVs at maximum operating angle, in other words, at Base Load. I believe there is a bit of logic which tries to keep the IGVs at maximum operating angle during the On-Line Water Wash and if and operator or some other control system is trying to change load during the wash procedure this shouldn't be happening. (It would also be helpful to know if someone or something is trying to change load during the wash procedure, including if the grid frequency is varying such that the IGVs are closing because of the unit's speed changing.)

There are a lot of really important variables to understand when trying to help with a problem like this. The more you supply in your original post, the better the response you will get. Also, if you've done anything to try to troubleshoot the problem it would be informative to know that (not just that you've observed the servo currents; have you observed the servo currents during "normal" operation, and if so, how do they behave?).

On most GE-design heavy duty gas turbines, the servo currents to any particular servo-controlled actuator are not "solid" values during steady-state unit operation (such as at Part Load without Preselected Load Control enabled; or at Base Load with a stable grid frequency). Servo current depends on a lot of factors, and the fact that there are three processors supplying servo current at the same time to a single valve causes the current values to fluctuate somewhat, while still remaining within the expected range of -0.8 mA, +/- 0.4 mA *for the algebraic sum of all three servo currents* (on some Speedtronic turbine control systems, one has to convert these currents into percentages, where 1% equals 0.1 mA; 100% equals 10 mA). The three servo currents should be fairly well balanced under normal conditions (under ideal conditions, they should be at -0.2667 mA each, for a total of -0.8 mA; but that rarely happens under normal operation conditions).

So, we don't know what you mean by fluctuations and we don't have enough information to make an informed response.
