Hi,

Inside an enclosure of Gas Turbine LM2500, 2 UV fire detectors are installed.

One day the CO2 bottles unload without any reason. No fire detected.

But during the LM2500 at 90% speed, there appears a red place near the combustion room. Very red.

Who can help me to understand if this really is the reason?

UV fire detector type C7050, electric rating 290 Vdc.

If two flame detector seen red and CO2 unloads, I think, can you check turbine enclosure temperature and sýmulate flame fire detector with very red thing. I found some temperature problem because of flame detector on the CDP bleed valve

 

Firstly the "red" place near the combustion room needs some clarification. The Power Turbine of a LM 2500 running at 90% speed will glow red. Is it the power turbine you see?

Secondly I cannot believe you only have 2 UV sensors for fire protection, our unit has 3 UV sensors and 4 rate of heat rise in the G/T enclosure and the CO2 system will only be discharged when you have any 2 sensors detect fire.

Are you sure of all the facts?

No, only one flame detector seen red and CO2
unloads. We checked the turbine enclosure temperature and simulate flame fire detector. It is ok, no problem.

Actually we changed the flame detector for a new one and it appears that is ok.
