Modbus Diagnostics
Networking topic

With Modbus TCP/IP communication, it is possible to have multiple sessions connected to one channel in a Modbus device?

The Modbus device has diagnostic information, see FC 8.

How shall this diagnostic info be used (or implemented), what belongs to the channel and what belongs to the session?

For example, if sub-function 0x0a Clear Counters is sent from one session, shall then also the corresponding channel diagnostic counters be cleared? But the channel may be used by other sessions...?

Does anyone have any experience with this?
