Pepperl and Fuchs Asi Ethernet gateway
PLCs and related questions. topic
Posted by Prad on 13 November, 2007 - 12:00 am
Hi guys,

I have a problem with Pepperl and Fuchs Asi Ethernet gateway (VBG-IP-K20-DMD), double master for 2 As-Interface networks. During first stage of commissioning, we have addressed all the slaves. The gateway was able to detect slave addresses and read inputs from those slaves. But all of a sudden we have problem now, it's able to detect the slave addresses but does not read inputs from those slaves. When I try to change it from stop mode to RUN mode, it says I don't have access rights.

Please reply if you got any idea of it.

If the ethernet connection is live it will prevent you making any changes, so disconnect the ethernet. Then you should be able to configure the ASi. As for not receiving the inputs - I'm not sure unless you tell me a bit more about it. Are you reading the inputs from a PLC? Are you sure you've configured your address ranges correctly? Have you stored the configuration? Let me know a bit more and I'll try and assist you further.

Prad,

In the US, please give Tim Cicerchi a call at the factory. He can help you with your problem. 330 486-0001. If you are out of the US, you can get a number from P+F's website and get support for your problem.

Jim
