I am Tien. I come from Vietnam. I am working for a project is called "Hot Plate Mill Project" in Halong city- Quang ninh province Vietnam.
There are two main motors drive to two working rollers and without gear box (directly to working roll). Their specification technical are follow:
Power : 5000 KW
Voltage amature: 900 VDC
Speed: 0/50/100 rpm.

We usually use it at speed 50 rpm. I am not sure to choose feedback equipment is encoder or tachometer and the informmation about it.
Can you give me some webs about tachometer.
Thank you for about Encoder Web site.

Best regards

Dear Tien !

Check the following web links about tachometers, rotation speed sensors and encoders:

http://www.sensorsportal.com/HTML/SENSORS/Rotation.ht m

http://www.sensorsportal.com/HTML/SENSORS/RotationSens_Manuf.htm

There are many useful links and list of encoders manufacturers.

Good luck.
