Subject: Rockwell interchange software library not available for HP Itanium process based server.
Please note, we have Rockwell interchange software for AB PLC communication as well as pyramid integrator (PI) PLC.
We want to migrate our existing application from Alpha server (OS Tru Unix 5.1) to HP Itanium (OS HPUX 11.23)
For this we load interchange 6.1.5 on the latest HP Itanium server, then we compiled the source.
We found the following...
Problem reported during compilation
=========================
Spinning>make -f makenew
cc -o ../bin/rilun140 ../obj/rilun140.o ../obj/rilab.o -L/opt/rsi/ic/lib/ -ldtl -lm -lc -lrt +DD64
ld: Mismatched ABI (not an ELF file) for -ldtl, found /opt/rsi/ic/lib//libdtl.sl
Fatal error.
*** Error exit code 1
Stop.
Conclusion
========
One symbolic library libdtl.sl was not compatible with Itanium processor
In 1999, the Itanium processor did not exist,
interchange application is avalable for HP Parius processor
Spinning>ls -lt /opt/rsi/ic/lib/libdtl.sl
-r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 543451 Jul 20 1999 /opt/rsi/ic/lib/libdtl.sl
Please help in this matter from Rockwell software development team. This is very critical to us.
This interchange software is running at another automation handling plant.
We also want to migrate to this server.
Please forward this mail to concerned Rockwell engineer so we can get a solution.
We want Rockwell to provide interchange symbolic library for new Itanium process.
