What is the minimum possible proportional gain setting that can be put in a electronic single loop controller?

Any examples of extremely fast processes and the proportional gain put for them?

Depends on the brand and model, but most do proportional gain to three decimal places so minimum gain would be 0.001

Such is the case with Honeywell UDC and Siemens/Moore 353

Along with gain settings, for fast loops be aware:

What is scan time of sensor input?
Any built-in averaging of sensor input (used to eliminate some sensor noise)?
