My Bailey DCS system is working well and I do not wish to upgrade. My Bailey INFI90 & OIS42 spare parts are good for the next 10 years.
The only Bailey hardware replacement problems that I have is the Lexmark Color Printer for OIS42 (CVMS4.1) "Screen Copy" function and the OIC42 X-terminal machine (Tektronix XP400). The Lexmark deskjet printer is hooked onto the DEC DS700 print server (on the DECNET) via a serial to parallel adaptor.
I have seen other users replace the Lexmark with HP Deskjet 550C. Even that is hard to get in the PC market today. Which deskjet in the market today can be used for the OIS42 screen copy function? In order to use a new deskjet printer for this purpose, I believe that a new VMS 7.1 print driver has to be developed. Are the any people out there who is capable of creating a print driver for the VMS 7.1 OS and OIS42(CVMS4.1) application?
I believe that there are a lot of Bailey users out there like me who wants to keep the Bailey system for the next 10-15 years. I hope you can share your Bailey INFI90 problems and solutions with me. I can be contacted at [email protected].
