I'm currently employing 12 Detroit Diesel v92 series engines on my generators, and for the past 8 years I haven't had to do an engine change or DDEC (Detroit Diesel Electronic Control) flash or change out. About a week ago I got an error on my DDR (Detroit Diesel Reader) when I checked this one generator that was having load problems and the error I got for the EC for the engine says "NONVOLATILE MEMORY FAILURE". Now I'm pretty experienced with fixing most of the problems on the v92 series engines but I'm definately not a genius when it comes to fixing the ECs. Does anyone have any input as to what could be the cause of this error or how to fix it? Currently I'm looking at getting a new DDEC attuned for the engine but if I can fix it myself I'd rather do that.
