Hello:

We are having trouble with Toshiba G7 VFDs at one of our plants. We have had four separate failures where internal VFD capacitors have blown with the drive consequently failing.

Has anybody experienced similar events?

Regards,

Mark

I had a similar problem in another VFD. I found Input supply voltage was high. I think this may be the cause, or if IGBT might have got shorted first while VFD running this can cause the capacitor burst.
