I run a small hotel and am implementing through a provider a building automation project for the hotel. We are implementing transponders for outside and inside the room door, and thermostat all with modbus communication.

The problem is that they are very very expensive and cannot afford to purchase them.

Can someone please advice where can I look for transponders that run in modbus?

I greatly appreciate any help.

Hello Spiro;

The word "transponder" can have many meanings, depending on the industry you are working in, so it would be very hard to give a precise answer.
Are you looking for RFID units, radios with Modbus interface (look for data-lync, synectect...)? Precision in your question facilitates the help we can give.
