Explosion Proof Enclosures

We have a stainless steel unpainted Ex D cabinet in a plant. The customer wants to paint it with epoxy paint for environmental protection. Is it necessary to go for recertification of the cabinet after painting? The flame path joints, label, etc. will not be painted.
