GE Mark V <I> Upgrade
HMI topic

Posted by dahshour1 on 6 March, 2008 - 11:40 pm
We decided to replace our GE Mark V <I> software with a new Windows based HMI software. We are in the stage of deciding what alternative to use. I have got offers from GE for their HMI based on Cimplicity and one other offer from CSE Engineering for their ITC software.

If anyone has done this work on their machine before regarding either of the two alternatives please share your experience. Thanks in advance.

We supply an upgrade to the <i> and <hmi> systems. The biggest benefits of our product over others, is that your system does not have to come down for eeprom changes, and we include a historian for capturing valuable trending data at rates up to 1/8 sec directly from the Mark V (MkV). Since there are no eeprom changes, installation can be normally completed within a day.

Imagine your trip logic being recorded continuously at 1/8 sec. Tracking the source of a trip becomes much easier when you instantly know the first event that sets it off.

100% of our hardware is industry standard. Our system is assembled with a current model Contemporary Controls PCI ARCNet card that is readily available to you as the end user in event of a card failure (No hassles with dealing with GE).

Part of our setup services, included with the sale, is initial screen configuration, in which you send us a a few of the config folders from the <i>,such as the unit1 folder, and we will customize screens in Cimplicity to match what you had in the <i>. Once completed, we can complete the upgrade / changeover without unit interruption.

You can email me at eric.miller @ global-controls. com and I'll work on a full quote for you. We can even arrange to perform a live demonstration for you at your plant, if you are interested.
