Adding 200 series I/O to Quantum
PLCs topic

I want to add a new drop to my Modicon Quantum network. The I/O we are using is 200 series but when I add the new drop and try to select 200 series it isn't shown in the options. I know the PLC is configured correctly to use 200 series I/O because there are several drops containing it already.

Hi Clarke,

Sorry I don't have the solution to your problem. However, I am currently looking at upgrading an old 584L PLC to a Quantum. Would you mind telling me some more info about the setup that you have? Did you require additional hardware/modules to allow the Quantum to talk to the old 200 series I/O, or does it sit on the RIO coax link? What programming software are you using?

Your info would be appreciated.

Clarke,

What software (and version) are you using?

Darren,
Schneider has a program where they sell swing arm racks and cabling to fit over the old racks allowing you to use the existing I/O. Talk to your local distributor and ask for information on the MAP program.
