Can anybody give me some idea why the electrical potential of metals used as anodes and cathodes in cathodic protection system is referred to as having negative potential? While referring to the potential difference between these metals it is considered as positive(+). I am totally confused and fail to understand even after going through their brochures while dealing this subject.
