Boiler Feed Water Valve Sizing
Process Control topic

I am finishing my Automation Engineering Technology diploma, and to do so I must complete a technical report. Mine is based on designing the control portion for boiler three element feed water control. I am sizing my feedwater valve, and got a CV of 2.78. I can't find a valve online that has a CV close enough to get me up to 80% control. The closest I can find is up to 73%.

Any suggestions?

Mitch,

73% seems reasonable, but I'm sure if you contact one of the valve vendors in your area and tell them what you are doing they will be more than willing to set you straight, maybe with some sort of trim modification.

Good Career Choice.
