I have an old HMI software (Wintelligent View) using a dot matrix printer for alarm printing. Wintelligent View is using the Windows default printer for alarm printing.
Anyone know a software that will emulate a dot matrix printer and log the alarm text lines into daily log files (so we can get ride off the old printer)?
I know View is logging alarm text files by itself but some days are missing (due to corruption?) and you cannot view the alarms that occured earlier in the actual day.
I tried "Serial Printer Logger" from AGG, but because all have to be installed in one single computer, it did'nt seem to work well using outgoing data with no real printer linked to serial port. (As soon as the serial printer is opening the port, serial printer logger can't access it).
