Energy Meter Calibration
Application Questions and Problems topic
Posted by Kevin on 15 July, 2008 - 12:56 am
I have a 'simple' problem at hand. Hope to find a witty solution.

We have an Energy Meter (make is GEC Measurements, UK) that collects kWh readings from one of our GTGs. The meter needs to be sent for calibration. It is likely to take 10 days. During these 10 day period the GTG will be running and I can arrange for an additional Energy Meter to take readings. When the existing meter comes back, how do I 'enter' these 10 days readings so that the operator doesn't have to always 'add' the readings of these days for which the meter was sent for calibration?

Any input would be really helpful.

Thanks and regards,

Kevin

Kevin,

To get round this problem is to have 2 meters measuring the same circuit. Use one as a main meter for data and use the second as a backup so its data can be used to ensure that the main is in check. While your main meter is sent away for calibration you could use the backup meter for data.
