Deear all,

Can anyone make clear to me what is the difference between SENSITIVE EARTH FAULT & RESTRICTED EARTH FAULT PROTECTION? How will we judge that between the two, which protection has to be given to a particular feeder?

Responding to Gupta's 24-Jul-08 (23:41) query:

Sensitive refers to the magnitude, while restricted refers to the zone of protection!

Aseem,

Restricted, as it's name is used for normally Transformer Protection (restricted to internal faults of transformer) & sensitive earth fault for a feeder protection.

For more details google "Earth Fault Protection" & "Restricted Earth Fault Protection".

Regards.
