Power saving tips for reduction in plant lighting & Ventilation power.

Lighting Power - Lighting power distribution/supply voltage/metal halide lamps/tube lights, etc. are included.

Ventilation Power - Blowers/pump motors of plant air washers & related issues causing high power consumption/man coolers fans/exhaust fans, etc.

Dear Minesh.

For saving energy in lighting:
1. Separate out day & night lighting circuits & control night lights using timers.

2.Avoid high watt low lux type fittings.

3.Provide distributed lighting over an area & use lux meter to decide exact number of fittings adequate to lit that area.

4.Use of natural ventilation & lights e.g. by providing transparent sheets over machine sheds will help.

5.Make a schedule to clean the fittings, maintain balance load, proper wiring & terminations to avoid voltage drop.

6.Using CLF lamps in offices, corridoors, emergency ligths etc. will save in wattage.

7.In godowns or long corridors, automated lighting using sensors will avoid unnecessary burning hours.

8.Develop a habit in the staff to switch off lights, fans, Acs , Coolers, PCs etc before leaving the offices.

9. For ventilation & air cooling, avoid air loss from closed areas.

10.Keep air filters, air washers & air heat exchangers clean to highest quality.

11. Avoid idle running of plants by providing thermostatic cvontrols.

12. Check the designed & running parameters of plant & remove small problems which hurdle in achieving designed results.

These are some tips only, you may find useful.

Regards.
