We have Eurotherm Controller Model No: 6370.
Its digital output specifications as follows:
Voltage Level
15V for logic 1
0 V for logic 0
Output Driver Capability
Logic1: 2.2 Kohm open collector pull up to +15 V Supply rail Logic 0: Sinks up to 16mA via 68 ohm
Logic drive can be supplied externally (15V max).
What is this? Please explain briefly.

I think this must be an older model because it doesn't show on Eurotherm web site.

You could use this output to drive a solid state relay directly between the output and zero Volt terminal. Logic 1 would turn the SSR On, Logic 0 would be Off. The SSR could be used to control a heater or switch a large contactor. This output would also drive a PLCs 24 VDC input.

If you need to drive a larger load, e.g. larger 24 VDC relay with a 1500 Ohm (or more) coil, you can connect the relay between +24 and the output with -24 connected to the controller zero terminal. The logic would be the opposite of SSR. Logic 0 would turn the relay on, Logic 1 would turn it Off.

Hope this helps. If not, post more details, e.g. what you are using the controller for.

Roy

Eurotherm [TCS] did have a dedicated back of the panel/din rail mounted module only for this
purpose & give PF contact. We do not remember
model no. now. Sorry.
