I am currently trying to model a bi directional converter. They have two loops, one is the voltage and the other is the current. The bandwidth of the loops are 60 and 600Hz respectively. To model the PI controller gain for each loop I need the capacitance and inductance of the system because the voltage loop is dependent on the capacitance and the current on the inductance. Has anybody done anything like this? Input would be extremely helpful. I would like to assume a critically damped system.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Easy, take a look a this thread.

You will need Maxima or wxMaxima to use the formulas but if you know the transfer function of the open loop system and the desired closed loop time constants then the Maxima program will calculate the controller gains.
