Hi,
I'm after a cheap way of switching units on and off.
In my case i want to control 3 things and have 2 inputs.
2 of the unit that need switching are just relays to open much more powerful connection IE 12V with larger amps.
1 goes to a coil relay
1 goes to the starter relay
(this is for a car engine)
the last output is i think tricky i dont even know it is possible a variable out. To control throttle. is that possible?
the inputs are
is the gear box in neutral (power on line if true) if not no power on line.
and a line that has a very fast on/off signal (RPM) and need to be counted
What hardware do i need? Is this possible?
Which parts are just insane?
I have a pc that has USB, serial and com and i can get what ever port
but i have not a clue how to program or what control interface i need or can i just use serial?

The idea is to start, control and log data from a test bed engine.
Also i would like to be able after ive written the code to control the progream from a flash application i can make flash write the properties to a txt file is it then possible to get the program to load them in?
