I am selecting a tachometer that is explosive proof. In previous projects, I always chose MTL662. However, MTL662 is I.S., not explosive proof. Who can do me a favor?
MTL662 is a loop powered indicator used in hazardous area application with 4-20 mA input only. You must have used intrinsically safe tachometer to sense speed along with MTL662 used for local display.
Explosion-proof tachometer is also available in market and you may source it through local vendors (check through net). These meters are housed in ex-proof enclosure with local LED/LCD display.
On different context, just to share with you... we have observed limitation with self powered meter where the probe need to be set close to 0.1mm. Externally powered (24VDC or 120VAC) meters are easier to set at 2/3 mm and also indicates speed in whole range.
Externally powered explosion proof tachometers are also available in market.
Regards.
