Hello!
I have PanelView Plus 700 and there is old project. I want to use it for new project but I have 2 problems.

1 The project on PanelView has a password to get in engineering mode and change configuration.

2 I cannot configure connection between rslinx and PanelView.

Please HELP !!!

 

You don't really need to have a password to change the application.

Is this a serial unit? If so, it could be either DF1 or DH485 protocol. RSLinx has an autoconfiog option that works pretty well.

 

First off, what version of ME are you using? Version 5 is the only one that will allow you to upload from the Panelview and use the project. Unless you have a copy of the project on file. You can change any of the passwords to what ever you want once you have the file unless they are writing the password into logic. Secondly, you don't use RSLinx to set up comms. ME has it's own RSLinx built into it and you have to configure and set it up in that one.

 

Yes I have ME v5. I tried with rs232 and ethernet crossover but RSLinx does not see PanelView Plus. I do not have that project file on my laptop. Is it any other software for that?

 

What comms is it using currently to connect with a PLC?

Have you tried the BOOTP-DHCP Server that came with RSLinx. This can be used to set an IP address?

Have you tried the Rockwell knowledge base, there are some handy
technotes/answer to some issues.

 

You don´t need to communicate with Panelview to upload the application. You can shutdown current application and save the mer file on CF card or Pendrive from usb port.
