Honeywell TDC3000 and Triconex V10

Does anyone have a proven communication link between a Triconex V10 HIM 4509 with Honeywell TDC3000 through Hiway Gateway??

There are several world-wide installations in Australia, North America and the Middle East who have upgraded the Tricon from V6-V9 to V10 and installed or kept the proven in use 4509 HIMs. The DCS vendor is claiming that it is not supported when we all know its been around for 25+ years. Just re-poll the HIM post upgrade.

Still have no luck with Honeywell. If the HIM4509 is joint developed between Honeywell and Triconex. I do not understand why they claimed its not supported. Is there any honeywell website that stated the HIM 4509 had been tested prior to released??

How about you consider using the SMM module interface on the TDC3000 UCN instead of the HG? The SMM integrates the Tricon nicely into TDC3000. V10 is supported and validated.

Your points on the Tricon will be similar to the xPM points and SOE is build into the SM Module.

Using SMM module has benefits:

1. SMM module is much more cheaper than HG module

2. If your NIM loading is still low (under 70-80%), you can use SMM module.

3. Your triconex/SMM point can communicate peer-to-peer to other UCN points in the same UCN

4. You don't need to disturb your LCN network to install SMM module. It means you don't need to modify your NCF file and shutdown all nodes on LCN one by one.

Though supported in V10 of Triconex, HIM4509 is already a matured product and might have been "withdrawn from sale" since Dec'07 as indicated in Product Lifecycle Document from Triconex.

Using HIM4509 in new project does not justify its use unless other reasons exist which are less technical.

Have you ever consider EPLCG or SI (serial interface) you can communicate to Triconex via Modbus mapping the address to Honeywell, I have done may with no problem.
