Hello people,
I just arrived in a site that has a strange problem I never encountered. I am sorry I don't have too many details, I will update as I receive some more from the customer.
So, 5 units, 5 MarkVIs. In the last 6 months they lost 5 rack power supplies. Apparently, there is no preferential unit to burn it's Speedtronic PS, it happened in all of them.
Funny thing is that in any of the cases, after they replaced the power supply, they found another problem, defective VCMI. No other card or terminal board was affected.
Of course I will start the usual checks, ground faults and the rest. I will also revise the software to make sure they included the ground fault alarms and power supply alarms in the alarmi list (it is a non-GE application using MarkVI so I don't know what to expect).
In the mean time, would you be so kind to share some past experiences if you saw anything similar?
Thank you!
P.S. I just registered and is the first posting. But I used a lot the information you share here. Thank you! And I promise to start contributing. Payback time
