Please tell me How can i use MARK V STUDIO software. Is it possible that i can use this software on my personal computer?
You install it on any PC; it's no different from any other application. Then you can use it to open CSP .prn files, and any other ASCII text file (which most of the Mark V configuration files are).
It has a File | Open just like any other MS-Windows CUA application, and a file open icon on the toolbar.
It is nothing more than a file viewer; it can't hurt anything. Play with it; have fun with it.

To add to that, you'd require a TCI (Turbine Controller Interface) software from GE in order to see live values - assuming your PC is already connected to Stagelink via Arcnet card.
Anyway CSA, do you happen to know the existence of many TCI software version? We've Win NT 4.0 HMI, i just wondering whether existing TCI would work under Windows XP.

dinster,
One of the serious problems with GE Mark V HMIs is that there is no comprehensive list, published or not, of software compatibility. The compatibility list would have to cover TCI, CIMBRIDGE, CIMPLICITY, and the numerous CIMPLICITY service packs. I think there are people at GE who know this information, but it must be a corporate secret, like the formula for Coca Cola or secret recipe for Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Many people have tried to copy software from WinNT 4.0 HMIs to WinXP machines, and I don't know of a single success story.

Some facts on Cimplicity5.x /Toolbox and WinXP:
I have a workstation built on WinXP and can monitor all 4 turbines on it.
As we have Cimplicity 5.x project, I found Toolbox gives Cimplicty 6.x support during installation on WinXP. So I changed compatibilty mode on Toolbox Setup.exe file to Win2000 and got my Cim5.x product in the selection list.
We do not need TCI on this workstation, so I do not know whether it works or not. Will try to check installing Toolbox on VMware machine.
Regards,

Minister,
are u referring to Mark V ?
i do not have any idea how is the setup for WinXP based GE HMI for Mark V.
As i said, for our WinNT 4.0 based HMI, we need Cimplicity, TCI software and these software will communicate thru Arcnet card using Stagelink protocol.
So i believe, for WinXP box, GE uses Toolbox software replacing the TCI software?
