i want to measure steam condensate flow. the flow is bidirectional. which flow meter is suitable for bidirectional flow measurement?

 

When I was at Seametrics, we designed a paddlewheel flowmeter for this application...any paddlewheel or symmetrical electronic turbine meter will do...but if you also want to determine direction of flow for totalization, you need a hall effect sensor with a quadrature electronics. This is generally available.

Steam condensate usually has too low conductivity for magnetic flowmeters. You could if you want really high accuracy use a transit time ultrasonic flowmeter...
