The largest CAN network I have ever done was about 100 meters and 25 nodes.

At 125Kbit with 5nS/M cables, the theory suggests that much larger networks can be constructed, in fact sticking an extra 100M of cable on a drum is no problem. But in practice things are often so different!

Does anybody have any success stories of constructing large industrial CAN networks at 125K?

 

We are no system integrators, therefore have no experience by ourselves. But having a lot of customers building such networks I see no problems with this network size at 125kbit/s.

Can you explain which problems you see? Most of the possible problems are related to a bad, not bus line, cabling.
