Problems communicating with an INFI-90 system over fiber media converters using serial SemAPI interface. Communications drop constantly, points take forever to load.

Basically:

INFI-90<->MediaCon<->~500M MMF<->MediaCon<->SemAPI

We're reasonably sure the problem is not at the system level. We've connected a spare system to the terminal unit, and it transfers data FAST. However, when we connect everything via media converter (even with a short loop) data transfer drops to nil.

We're using telebyte 9271a's as the converters. The Terminal Unit is set up for non-handshaking mode, and we've synched the baud rates, stop bits, etc at both ends.

Any ideas, cause we're all out.

Try the converters by Transition Engineering.. So far so good with my Infi90 ;)
